Overview of the Report

The Event Consumption Report is divided into three primary sections: Monthly Summary, Detailed Report, and All Events. Each section offers a different level of insight into your event usage.

  • Monthly Summary: This section provides a high-level view of your event consumption over a selected period. It displays a graphical representation of your events, showing trends in event usage month over month. This visual summary helps you quickly understand your usage patterns and identify any spikes in activity.

  • Detailed Report: The Detailed Report offers an in-depth analysis of your event consumption. Here, you can find a breakdown of events by specific parameters such as type, source, and date. This detailed view is particularly useful for identifying which events are contributing most to your overall consumption.

  • All Events: This section lists every event that has contributed to your consumption total. It provides a comprehensive view of all the events processed, allowing you to audit and verify your event data.

How to Use the Event Consumption Report

  1. Navigating to the Report:

    • Access the Event Consumption Report from the main dashboard by selecting it from the reports menu. Once selected, you will be presented with the Total Event Consumption bar, showing your overall usage and the remaining event limit.
  2. Selecting the Time Frame:

    • Use the time frame selector in the top-right corner of the graph to choose the period you want to analyze. Options typically include 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or a custom range. Selecting a time frame will update the data in the Monthly Summary graph accordingly.
  3. Viewing the Monthly Summary:

    • The Monthly Summary graph displays your event usage over the selected period. Each point on the graph represents the total events consumed in that month. The gray line indicates your event limit, helping you see how close you are to reaching it.
  4. Exploring the Detailed Report:

    • For more granular insights, switch to the Detailed Report tab. This section breaks down your events by various criteria, such as event type and source, providing a deeper understanding of your consumption patterns.
  5. Reviewing All Events:

    • In the All Events tab, you can view a complete list of all events that have been recorded. This exhaustive list is useful for auditing purposes and for identifying specific events that may need further investigation.
  6. Monitoring Your Event Limit:

    • At the top of the report, the Total Event Consumption bar indicates how much of your event limit you have used. It is color-coded to provide a visual cue about your consumption status (e.g., green for safe, yellow for caution, and red for near or exceeding the limit).
