Billing Accuracy

The figures displayed in the RCS Billing dashboard are indicative and provide an approximate overview based on your campaigns. Final billing is determined based on the operator's official numbers.

User Summary

The Usage Summary provides an at-a-glance view of your RCS message counts across several key categories. Each category represents a different type of messaging interaction:

  • Basic Messages: A Basic Message is an application-to-person (A2P) message that contains only text and is limited to 160 characters. This type of message is always delivered from an agent to a user. If a person-to-application (P2A) message is sent in response within 24 hours, the Basic Message becomes part of an ongoing A2P conversation. If no response is received within this period, the session is considered terminated.

  • A2P Single Messages: A Single A2P Message is an application-to-person (A2P) message that includes either multimedia content or text that exceeds 160 characters. This message is also delivered from an agent to a user. If a P2A message is received within 24 hours, it initiates a new A2P conversation. If no P2A message is received within 24 hours, the session ends.

  • A2P Conversations: An A2P Conversation is initiated when a P2A message is delivered within 24 hours of a Single A2P Message. This conversation session includes the initial A2P message and all subsequent messages exchanged within 24 hours from the first P2A message. The conversation ends after this 24-hour window if no further messages are exchanged.

  • P2A Conversations: A P2A Conversation starts when a person-to-application (P2A) message is received at a time when there is no active session, such as an ongoing A2P Single Message, A2P Conversation, or P2A Conversation. For the conversation to be established, the business must respond within 24 hours of receiving the P2A message.

Functionality

The following functionalities are available on the RCS billing dashboard:

Duration Filter

You can customize the time frame for viewing your messaging usage data. This flexibility is essential for analyzing your messaging trends, comparing performance over different periods, and ensuring that your billing overview aligns with specific reporting or budgeting needs.

By default, the dashboard displays data for the current month. You can select the time period from the duration filter. It is labeled with the current selection ("This month") and includes a dropdown arrow to the right of the label.

You are provided with a list of predefined time periods:

Time PeriodDescription
YesterdayShows data for the previous day.
Last 7 DaysShows data for the most recent seven days, including today.
This MonthShows data for the current calendar month. This is the default value.
Last 30 DaysShows data for the previous 30 days from the current date.
Last 90 DaysShows data of the last 90 days' activity.

You can select a custom date range if you have not met the options. To do this:

  1. Open the calendar interface. In the calendar pop-up, you can navigate through months and select specific start and end dates.
  2. Select the desired range and click Apply to refresh the dashboard with the data from the specified period.

Campaign Tag-Based Search Functionality

You can filter and analyze messaging data based on specific CPaaS campaigns & CE Journey IDs. This helps you to isolate and review the performance and costs associated with individual tags.

Select any tag from the Campaign tag dropdown list. You can also use the search bar to find any specific campaign tag. Select All to remove the filter and view combined data for all campaigns.

Download Report

You can export usage data and download a CSV file format containing the usage data currently displayed on the dashboard.

Click Download report to download your reports. The Download report pane appears. You can add or select the email address on which you want to receive your CSV file.
