WhatsApp Carousel Templates
Send a single WhatsApp message with up to 10 carousel cards.
Overview
Carousels are multi-product messages with an image or video of the product, a short description, and clickable buttons. They are used to showcase multiple products in a message. Each card has a description of a product. A maximum of 10 products can be shown using carousels.

To create a WhatsApp carousel template, you should have access to Netcore CPaaS and the CE dashboard. The steps for template and campaign creation are given in the links.
Points to Remember
- Carousel templates can include two to 10 cards.
- Each card must have a media header (image or video), body text (up to 160 characters), and at least one button (maximum two).
- Button types can be quick reply, phone number, URL, or Marketing Opt-Out.
- All cards must use the same media format and button types.
- The button type and position must be the same on every card.
- Copy code CTA and tooltips are not supported in carousels.
Create Template on the CPaaS Dashboard
Follow the steps given below to create WhatsApp Carousel Templates.
- Log in to your Netcore CPaaS dashboard. Navigate to the Templates section, and click CREATE TEMPLATE.
- Add Template name, select Marketing from the Category dropdown, and Carousel from the Type dropdown.
- Toggle on Allow Template Recategorization by Meta to send your template for approval to Meta and click NEXT.
- Add your message text in the bubble, using variables for personalized details like the customer’s mobile or invoice numbers. You can add up to 10 variables.
- Click Add Card to build the carousel. You can add between two and 10 carousel cards.
- Upload a media file from your device or provide a URL. The media type (Image or Video) must be the same across all cards.
- Enter the body text of your message and personalize it with up to 10 variables.
- Add buttons to prompt customer actions, such as Visit website or Call wow.
Set Button Type
At least one button is required, and button types can only be set in Card 1. It is then applied automatically to all cards.
- Preview your template on the right pane of the screen. Once completed with your template creation, save the template as a draft or submit it to Meta for approval. Once Meta approves, you can use it in campaigns.
Create Campaign on the Netcore CE Dashboard
Follow the steps given below to create a WhatsApp Carousel campaign.
- Ensure your template is approved by Meta. Log in to the Netcore CE dashboard to create a WhatsApp campaign.
- Navigate to Enagage > Create > WhatsApp . Add the campaign details and define your target audience in the Setup and Audience sections.
- Select your approved template in the Content section and map variables to customer attributes.
- Click APPLY SAME VARIABLE TO ALL CARDS if you want the same variables on each carousel card. You can include up to 10 different variables.
- Edit the image/ video added earlier if needed.
- Select SEND TEST MESSAGE to preview the final message before sending it. Ensure the users you send the test message to are active on WhatsApp.
- Click NEXT STEP to schedule and send your campaign.
