Troubleshooting & FAQs

Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with our subscriber trends.

Q. Why is the App Push reachability count different from the subscribed/unsubscribed trend data?

A. The key reason lies in the data scope:

  • Reachability count is calculated at the user level—representing users who can receive push notifications.
  • Subscriber trend data is captured at the device level, meaning a single user with multiple devices may appear more than once.

Q. Why does my app subscriber trend data seem lower than expected?

A. If your account has been active prior to February 1, 2025, you may notice lower trend data compared to reachability counts. This is because Netcore started storing subscriber trend data only from that date onward.

Q. Is the subscriber trend data based on raw event counts?

A. No. Subscriber trend data is not a direct count of subscribe/unsubscribe events. It is generated using a logical query that includes:

  • Deduplication at the device level
  • Filtering out stale or invalid tokens
  • Other backend rules to ensure data accuracy

Q. How frequently is the subscriber trend data updated?

A. The subscriber trend data is refreshed every 12 hours, ensuring near real-time visibility into subscription behavior. Trends are timezone-aware and computed based on each client’s local timezone for accurate reporting.

Q. What is the difference between Overall Count and Chart Data in Subscriber Trends?

A. Overall Count reflects the current total number of subscribed and unsubscribed users as of today.

Chart Data shows daily subscription activity within a selected date range, indicating when users opted in or out.

For Example:
A user who subscribes on 15th September and unsubscribes on 20th September:

Will appear as Subscribed on 15th and Unsubscribed on 20th in the trend chart.

But it will be counted as Unsubscribed in the Overall Count, reflecting their latest status.

Q. How is subscription data handled for users with multiple devices?

A. If a user subscribes on multiple devices, they are counted once as subscribed in the Overall Count. If unsubscribed on all devices, they are counted as unsubscribed only once. If mixed (e.g., subscribed on device A, unsubscribed on device B):

Both events are shown in the trend chart (device-level activity).

The Overall Count reflects the most recent state—typically unsubscribed if any device has opted out.

Q. How far back does Subscriber Trend data go?

A. Web Push data is available from 1st February 2024 onwards. App Push data is available from 1st February 2025 onwards.

If your app or website has been active before these dates, historical trend data may not be available.

Q. What export options are available for subscriber trend data?

A. You can export trend graphs in the following formats:

  • PDF
  • PNG
  • JPEG

Use the three-dot menu in the trend widget to access export options.

Q. How can I use filters in the Subscriber Trend dashboard?

A. You can apply the following filters:

  • Platform: e.g., Mobile, Tablet, Desktop
  • Browser: e.g., Chrome, Safari, Firefox (Web Push only)

Filters help you identify high-unsubscribe segments and adjust messaging accordingly.

Q. What does the trend graph display?

A. The trend graph provides:

Line charts for daily subscribed and unsubscribed user counts

  • Platform-wise trends (e.g., mobile vs. tablet)
  • Browser-wise trends (for web push)
